(Here’s one my all-time favorite songs (video below) - Feel Us Shaking by Sean Kelly of The Samples, one of my favorite bands. If you like it you can download it from iTunes. It’s from the album Seventeen.)
1. Duran Duran — Rio
2. Calexico - Feast of Wire
3. Night and Day: The Cole Porter songbook
or maybe
#3 Joni Mitchell- Blue
or maybe
#3 Shawn Colvin - a Few Small Repairs
- #3 is the toughest, it’s so hard to choose! I’m sure about the first two though.
The Samples are great! Hope you’re enjoying some of these fine tunes at the Cape,
L.
Hey Mark,
I just found your blog today via CopyBlogger. I’m really enjoying your articles, great stuff. =)
My 3 albums:
Tool - Lateralus
Deathcab For Cutie - Plans
A Perfect Circle - Mer De Noms
Yay Mark,
i’ve been on the road for the past coupla weeks. thanks for these fun welcome home Qs.
these days i’m listening to Belle & Sebastian - an earthy Scottish group. GREAT creating music.
my three desert island albums would be (these will show my age):
The Beatles’ White Album
The Leo Kottke Anthology
Carole King’s Tapestry
and i’m pleased to introduce ya’ll (yup, i’m southern) to Little Windows (aka Julee Glaub Weems and Mark Weems). if you like pure Irish/Appalachian tunes, they’ll rock your world.
Lisa Beth - cool! Great choices…Never heard of Calexico…thanks!
Jonathan - welcome to the cafe! Death Cab, very cool…and I’ll look forward to checking out the Tool album and A Perfect Circle.
Lisa - welcome back. Beatles! Tapestry! Leo Kottke is amazing on that guitar. I just previewed him on iTunes and it spun me into a black whole of special iTunes mixes of “Acoustic Nirvana”-type songs. Listen for the song “June Tune” - really lovely.
Beatles - always on the list without any doubt.
I also am into the following:

Laurie - thanks for the links. If you like those songs you might also enjoy Michelle Tumes. I’ve got a big mix of her stuff in my iPod - “Healing Waters”, “Lovely”…nice tunes.
Thanks, I’ll take a look!
